About the series
Shot along the coast of Chubut, in Argentine Patagonia, Vínculos con el Mar is a documentary series about the relationship between a community and the ocean at its doorstep. In Camarones and on the Valdés Peninsula, we meet the people who live with the sea every day — children, guides, fishers and the wildlife they share the shore with.
The series looks beyond postcard nature to the everyday ties that bind people to the coast: knowledge passed from one generation to the next, the pull of a place, and the quiet work of protecting it.

Director approach
Vínculos con el Mar is built on time and closeness. Rather than filming the Patagonian coast as a postcard, the series follows the people who live with it — a sea club of kids, a local guide, the rhythm of a small town — and lets their everyday relationship with the ocean carry the story.
The camera stays patient and observational: natural light, handheld movement, long looks at faces and water. Ambient sound — wind, waves, the quiet between words — sets the pace, so that wildlife and people share the same frame rather than compete for it.
Each episode is a self-contained portrait, but together they trace one idea: caring for the sea begins with knowing it, and knowing it begins with belonging to a place.

Why this series?
Argentina has one of the longest coastlines in the Americas, yet the bond between its coastal communities and the sea is rarely told from the inside. Vínculos con el Mar puts that relationship at the center — not as an environmental lesson, but as a lived, human story. By following kids learning to swim and dive, a guide who found his place on the shore, and the wildlife of the Valdés coast, the series shows that conservation is, above all, a matter of connection: protecting the sea starts with the people who already love it.

Distribution plan
Online platforms — release on YouTube, supported by a social-media campaign.
Education & outreach — use in schools and with conservation organizations to connect young audiences with the sea.
Impact of the series
Vínculos con el Mar aims to strengthen the bond between coastal communities and the ocean they depend on. By showing real people — especially children — building that relationship, the series hopes to inspire a sense of belonging and stewardship that outlasts the screen, and to serve as a tool for schools, NGOs and local initiatives working to protect the Argentine sea.
